Back / forward buttons only register if your mouse has them and the browser receives them. The polling rate is only an estimate: browsers may group fast movement, so the real figure for your mouse can be higher than shown. A mouse that registers one physical click as two very quick clicks (under 40 ms apart) is flagged above - that is the classic sign of a worn switch.
