What is a seed colour?

Material 3 builds a whole theme from a single "source" colour. From it, the generator creates the primary, secondary and tertiary palettes, neutrals, and every light and dark colour role such as primary, onPrimary and surfaceContainer.

What do the scheme styles change?

Tonal Spot is the Material default - calm and balanced. Vibrant and Expressive push the colours harder, Neutral and Monochrome tone them down, and Content / Fidelity stay closest to the seed colour you picked.

How do I use it in my Android app?

Choose "Android colors.xml" and "Android themes.xml", paste them into res/values and res/values-night, and use a Material3 parent theme. For Compose, copy the Color.kt and Theme code; for Flutter use ColorScheme.fromSeed or the exact scheme.

Is it the same as Google's Material Theme Builder?

It uses Google's open source material-color-utilities library, the same colour maths behind Material You, so the results follow the Material 3 specification.
